Control Valve Body Assemble

INSPECTION PROCEDURE





1. Inspect the valve body to spacer plate gasket for valve body channel witness marks. The witness marks should be complete. Incomplete witness marks may be caused by an uneven case surface. Incomplete witness marks may also be caused by cross-channel leaks.
2. Inspect the valve body casting for the following conditions:
a. Porosity
b. Cracks
c. Damaged machined surfaces
d. Chips or debris

CLEANING PROCEDURE
1. Clean all the valves, springs, bushings, and the control valve body in clean solvent.
2. Dry all the parts using compressed air.

CONTROL VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY





1. Install the following items:
a. The isolator valve
b. The regulator apply spring
c. The regulator apply valve
d. The bore plug
e. The bore plug retainer





2. Install the following items:
a. The 4-3 sequence valve spring
b. The 4-3 sequence valve
c. The 3-4 relay valve
d. The bore plug
e. The bore plug retainer





3. Install the following items:
a. The 3-4 shift valve
b. The 3-4 shift valve spring
c. The bore plug
d. The bore plug retainer





4. Install the following items:
a. The reverse abuse valve
b. The reverse abuse valve spring
c. The bore plug
d. The coiled spring pin
e. The 3-2 downshift valve
f. The 3-2 downshift valve spring
g. The bore plug
h. The bore plug retainer





5. Install the following items:
a. The 3-2 control valve
b. The 3-2 control valve spring
c. The 3-2 control solenoid
d. The solenoid retainer





6. Install the manual valve





7. Install the following items:
a. The actuator feed limit valve
b. The actuator feed limit valve spring
c. The bore plug
d. The bore plug retainer
e. The pressure control solenoid
f. The solenoid retainer
g. The solenoid retainer bolt





8. Install the following items:
a. The 1-2 accumulator valve spring
b. The 1-2 accumulator valve in the 1-2 accumulator valve sleeve
c. The 1-2 accumulator valve and sleeve
d. The bore plug
e. The coiled spring pin





9. Install the following items:
a. The 2-3 shift valve
b. The 2-3 shuttle valve
c. The 2-3 shift solenoid valve
d. The solenoid retainer





10. Install the following items:
a. Install the 1-2 shift valve spring
b. The 1-2 shift solenoid valve
c. The solenoid valve retainer





11. Install the following items:
a. The forward abuse valve
b. The forward abuse valve spring
c. The bore plug
d. The coiled spring pin
e. The low overrun valve
12. The low overrun valve spring the following items:
a. The forward accumulator oil seal on the forward accumulator piston
b. The forward accumulator pin
c. The forward accumulator piston
d. The forward accumulator spring
e. The forward accumulator cover
f. The forward accumulator cover bolts
