Input Clutch Assembly Disassemble

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
- Tools Required:
- J 23327-1 Clutch Spring Compressor
- J 23456 Clutch Spring Compressor Press
- J 25018-A Clutch Spring Compressor Adaptor





1. Remove the reverse input clutch housing; and the drum assembly from the input clutch assembly.
2. Remove the stator shaft/selective washer bearing assembly.
3. Remove the thrust selective washer.





4. Remove the 3rd and 4th clutch backing plate retainer ring.
5. Remove all 3rd and 4th clutch plates.





6. Remove the forward clutch backing plate retainer ring.
7. Remove the forward clutch backing selective plate.
8. Remove the forward clutch sprag assembly.





9. Remove all forward clutch plates.
10. Remove the input sun gear bearing assembly.
11. Remove the input housing to the output shaft seal.
12. Remove all overrun clutch plates.





13. Install the J 23327-1 and the J 25013-A.
14. Compress the clutch spring.
15. Remove the overrun clutch spring retainer snap ring.
16. Remove the J 23327.





17. Remove the overrun clutch spring assembly.
18. Remove the overrun clutch piston.
19. Remove the forward clutch piston.
20. Remove the forward clutch housing.
21. Remove the 3rd and 4th clutch spring assembly.
22. Remove the 3rd and 4th clutch apply ring.
23. Remove the 3rd and 4th clutch piston.
