Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Check for the following P Codes:
P0461 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Performance,
P0462 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Low Voltage,
P0463 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Voltage.

These codes will NOT always turn on the MIL.

Even if no codes exist, reviewing the Diagnostic Charts will give you a better understanding of how the Fuel Level Buffer interacts with gauge function.
These tables also contain some pin-out voltages for the Buffer.
