Rear Lamp Replacement

Taillamp Assembly:

Remove or Disconnect
^ Make sure the headlamp switch is off. Refer to Service Precautions.
^ Open the rear doors.
1. Two lens assembly screws.
2. Lens assembly.
3. Socket assemblies from the back of the lens assembly.
^ Remove each socket assembly by squeezing the tang at the electrical connector and turning the bulb and base.
4. Bulbs from the sockets.
^ Remove the stop/turn signal bulb or backup lamp bulb by pushing the bulb in, turning it one quarter turn to the left, and lifting it out.
^ Remove the marker bulb by pulling it straight out.
IMPORTANT
^ Do not remove grease from the socket.

Install or Connect
1. Bulbs into the sockets.
^ Make sure there is grease in the socket. If not, apply a light coating of lithium grease to the socket.
2. Stop/turn signal bulb or backup lamp bulb by lining up the bulb pins with the socket, pushing the bulb in, and turning it 1/4 turn to the right.
3. Marker bulb by pushing it straight in.
4. Sockets into the lens assembly.
5. Lens assembly to the body with two screws.

Tighten
^ Rear lens assembly screws to 2.5 N.m (22 Lb. in).
