Vehicle Lifting: Service and Repair
GENERAL VEHICLE LIFTING AND JACKINGFor lifting the vehicle various lift points are recommended. The floor jack lift points on the front are the center of the front suspension crossmember or the front frame lift pad. The floor jack lift points on the rear are the rear axle differential or the rear spring hanger. The one-column hoist lift points for the front end are the front frame between the lower control arm and the frame pad or the front frame pad when using a tip-up hoist pad. The one-column hoist lift point for the rear end is the rear spring, just behind the hanger for the tip-up pad only. The suspension-contact hoist lift points for the front end are the outer areas of the lower control arms.
