Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

General Description

The electronic circuit board controls all the timing and washer commands. When the wash button is held on for more than 1 second, washer solvent is sprayed on the windshield as long as the button is held. This is accompanied by wiper activity that continues for approximately 6 seconds after the button is released.

Rotating the wiper switch to the "LO" or "HI" speed position causes the wiper motor to operate continuously at a low or high speed.

Rotating the wiper switch to the "DELAY" position will cause the wiper motor to operate intermittently with an adjustable time interval between sweeps. The time interval is controlled by a solid-state timer in the wiper motor circuit board. The duration of the delay interval is determined by the delay rheostat in the wiper/washer switch.

Rotating the wiper switch to the "MIST" position will cause the wiper motor to operate at low speed. The wiper motor will continue to operate at low speed while the switch is held in "MIST."

The wiper motor is protected by an automatic reset type circuit breaker located in the wiper motor. A 25 amp wiper fuse protects the circuit wiring.
