Troubleshooting Hints - with Temperature Display

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
HOME LINK SYSTEM (If Equipped)
The programmable Universal Home Link 3-Channel Garage Door Opener is mounted in the middle of the Overhead Console. This Integral part of the console is powered by a 12 volt ORN wire tied to the ORN (ckt 40) wire at the Overhead Console. Ground is provided by a PPL/WHT wire tied to the BLK (ckt 1350) wire at the console. If both Home Link and Front Dome/Reading Lamps are inoperative, REFER to Lighting and Horns for Interior Lights for diagnosis. If Front Reading Lamps are OK but Home Link is not, then CHECK the wires within the Overhead Console from the main harness to the Home Link Unit for damage. If the wires to the Home Link unit prove to be OK by having power and ground at the Home Link connector, REFER to the Owner's Manual for directions to programme, operate or erase transmitter channels. If you still cannot programme the transmitter after repeated attempts, then replace the Home Link Unit. Lighting and Horns
1. If SC or OC appears in the temperature display during operation, CHECK for missing or damaged connector seal, and bad connections at the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor, and Compass and Temperature Display Module.
2. CHECK the condition of the GAUGES (FUSE 4). If Fuse is open, then LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload and REPLACE fuse.
3. CHECK that Grounds G105, G107 are clean and tight.
4. If the Compass and Temperature Display Module is blank, CHECK for bad connections at the Compass and Temperature Display Module Connector and Connector C100 terminal C2.
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ CHECK for proper installation of Aftermarket Electronic Equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems, (see Diagnostic Aids for General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
