Speed Sensor and Case Extension Installation

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
- Tools Required:
- J 21426 Rear Seal Installer





1. Install an output shaft sleeve and an output shaft seal.

Do not push the sleeve past the machined surface on the output shaft.





2. Install the case extension to case seal and the case extension.
3. Install the case extension to case bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).





4. Inspect the internal transmission speed sensor for the following defects:
- Cracks
- Nicks
- Damage





5. Install the internal transmission speed sensor.
- Tighten the bolt to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).





6. Install the case extension oil seal assembly.
