Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Loosen the clamp and separate the air cleaner inlet elbow from the turbocharger inlet elbow.




2. Release the clips holding the air cleaner cover to the housing.

3. Remove air filter with air cleaner inlet elbow attached.




4. Remove the air cleaner assembly mounting bolts.

5. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

- Inspect air cleaner filter for damage or excessive dirt accumulation. Replace if necessary.

- Inspect air inlet elbows and CDR hose for damage or cracks, replace if necessary.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the air cleaner assembly.

2. Install the air cleaner assembly mounting bolts.

Tighten
- Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 Nm (19 lb ft).

3. Install air cleaner filter with inlet elbow attached.

4. Install air cleaner cover to the housing and clip the air cleaner cover into place.

5. Install air cleaner inlet elbow to the turbocharger inlet elbow and tighten clamp.

Tighten
- Tighten the inlet elbow clamp to 5 Nm (45 lb. in).
