Steering Wheel

^ Tool Required:
- J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Disable the SIR system, refer to "Disabling the SIR System."
3. Inflator module, refer to "Inflator Module Replacement."





4. Steering wheel horn contact.





5. Nut that retains the steering wheel to the steering shaft.
- Note the relationship of the steering wheel splines to the steering shaft to ensure proper installation.





6. Steering wheel, using tool J 1859-A.

NOTICE: Do not hammer on the steering wheel puller, or damage could result to the steering column.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

Important: The turn signal lever on the multifunction switch must be in the neutral position when installing the steering wheel.

1. Align the detents on the steering wheel and steering shaft, and install the steering wheel to the shaft.
2. Nut that retains the steering wheel to the steering shaft.
- Tighten nut to 41 Nm (30 lb ft).
3. Steering wheel horn contact.
4. Inflator module, refer to "Inflator Module Replacement."
5. Enable the SIR system, refer to "Enabling the SIP. System."
6. Negative battery cable.
