Passlocktm Sensor

The PasslockTM sensor is a stationary sensor located inside the upper right side of the steering column. The PasslockTM sensor is part of the lock module assembly and may not be serviced separately. The PasslockTM sensor contains the following components:
^ Two internal Hall Effect sensors
^ One of 10 available Resister Networks

Each one of the Resistor Networks produces a unique voltage to send to the BCM. The Tamper Hall Effect sensor on located on the top. The Security Hall Effect sensor is located on the bottom. The PasslockTM sensor connects to the BCM via a 3 wire harness. The 3 wire harness consists of the following components:
^ The PasslockTM power
^ The PasslockTM return
^ The PasslockTM data

Both Hall Effect sensors monitor the magnet on the lock cylinder. The Tamper Hall Effect sensor turns ON it an intruder attempts to bypass the PasslockTM sensor by placing a large magnet around that area of the steering column. The PasslockTM sensor sends an analog voltage to the BCM via the PasslockTM data circuit. All of the different SIT PasslockTM sensors are under the same part number. You may not replace the PasslockTM sensor and expect the system to operate properly. You must follow specific replacement instructions.
