Wiper Arm Chatter

If the wipers chatter or shudder, clean the windshield and the blade elements. Refer to Wiper Chatter Repair.

Marking the Windshield
Use only a water-soluble marker to mark the windshield. Other types of marker may damage the wiper elements. The chemicals that remove other types of marker may damage the following components:
^ The paint
^ The glass
^ The wiper elements

The chemicals may leave a residue on the glass that could lead to wiper chatter.

Painting
Do not subject the wiper arms to temperatures above 70°C (160°F). Remove the wiper arms before starting any painting operation that uses an oven to cure the paint.
