Propeller Shaft Replacement (Two-Piece Rear)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the rear propeller shaft.
2. Remove the following items:
2.1. The nuts
2.2. The bolts
2.3. The washers
3. Remove the propeller shaft with the center bearing support from the crossmember.
4. Remove the shaft from the transmission or transfer case.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Install both propeller shafts with the universal joints in phase.





1. Install the propeller shaft with center bearing support to the transmission (or to the transfer case) and to the crossmember.
2. Install the center bearing support bolts with the washers to the support bearing.
3. Install the nuts with the washers to the support bearing bolts.
- Tighten the nuts to 70 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the rear propeller shaft.
