Battery Tray and Hold-Down Retainer Description

CAUTION: Refer to Batteries Produce Explosive Gasses Caution In Cautions and Notices.

The battery tray and the retainer should be clean and free of corrosion before the battery is installed. The tray should be in good condition so the tray can hold the heavy battery securely and level. Be certain that there are no parts in the tray before installing the battery.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Prevent the battery from shaking in the tray by tightening the retainer to specifications.

Tighten
Tighten the battery hold down retainer nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
