Troubleshooting Hints

1. If a Transmitter does not operate it may need to be synchronized by pressing and holding the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for 7 seconds.
2. CHECK the GAUGES FUSE (Fuse 4) at the I/P Fuse Block. If Fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload, REPLACE Fuse.
3. CHECK CIG LTR FUSE (Fuse 13) by operating the CIGAR LIGHTER. If Fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload, REPLACE Fuse.
4. CHECK condition of PWR ACCY Circuit Breaker for an open condition. If Breaker is open, LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload. If Circuit Breaker would not reset, REPLACE the Circuit Breaker.
5. CHECK that Grounds G200 and G403 are clean and tight.
6. Always CHECK Terminal contact before replacing any Component.
7. If a second Transmitter is available, try it. If it works, change the batteries in the inoperative Transmitter and synchronize. If it still doesn't work, the Transmitter is defective.
8. CHECK Portable Transmitter Batter, terminals. They should be clean and make good contacts with the Battery. If you disconnect the battery, then perform step 1.
9. If in doubt as to the condition of the Transmitter batteries, REPLACE them with new ones, then perform step 1. Refer to Battery for Transmitter Battery replacement procedure, programming instructions, and additional information. Battery
10. CHECK that Remote Control Door Lock Receiver BLK/WHT (1455) programming wire is not open or shorted to ground.
11. Ensure Power Door Locks System is operating properly before proceeding. If not, Refer to Power Door Locks for REPAIR. Power Locks
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ CHECK for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
