Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the instrument cluster.
3. Remove the two screws from the instrument cluster area that retain the trim pad to the instrument panel carrier.
4. Remove the driver's knee bolster.
5. Remove the passenger's knee bolster.
6. Remove the four screws that retain the pad to the knee bolster brackets.
7. Roll the instrument panel back, but do not remove the instrument panel. Refer to IP Assembly Replacement. Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement
8. Remove the ventilation ducts.




9. Remove the screws that retain the trim pad to the instrument panel carrier.
10. Remove the trim pad from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the trim pad to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the screws that retain the trim pad to the instrument panel carrier.

Tighten
Tighten the screws that retain the trim pad to the instrument panel carrier to 2 N-m (18 lb in).

3. Install the ventilation ducts.
4. Install the instrument panel to the vehicle.
5. Install the screws that retain the pad to the knee bolster brackets.

Tighten
Tighten the screws that retain the pad to the knee bolster brackets to 2 N-m (18 lb in).

6. Install the driver's knee bolster.
7. Install the passenger's knee bolster.




8. Install the two screws to the instrument cluster area in order to retain the trim pad to the instrument panel carrier.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to the instrument cluster to the instrument panel carrier to 2 N-m (18 lb in).

9. Install the instrument cluster.
10. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
