Caster Description
The caster is the tilting of the front steering axis either forward or rearward from the vertical (1). It is measured in degrees of tilt. A rearward tilt (3) is positive caster and a forward tilt (2) is negative caster.
Incorrect caster may result from damaged control arms and other related front suspension parts. Refer to SUSPENSION GENERAL DIAGNOSIS. Uneven or spotty tire wear are signs of unequal caster and camber settings.
