Front Suspension

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with safety stands.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to WHEEL REMOVAL in TIRES AND WHEELS.

Important: Make sure to remove parts from the right and left front of the vehicle, and keep the parts separated.

3. Remove the stabilizer link nuts.
4. Remove the stabilizer link bolts.
4.1. Pull the stabilizer link bolts up through the retainers, the insulators, and the link spacers.
4.2. These components will come free, along with the end of the stabilizer shaft.

5. Remove the insulator bolt and the nut (left hand).

6. Remove the insulator bolts (right hand).
7. Remove the insulator clamps.
8. Remove the stabilizer shaft.
9. Remove the insulators from the stabilizer shaft.
10. Inspect all of the parts for wear and damage.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the insulators to the stabilizer shaft. Make sure the slit in the insulator faces forward.
2. Install the stabilizer shaft to the frame and the lower control arm. In order to allow alignment of the control arm to stabilizer shaft insulator clamp holes, unload the torsion bar. Refer to TORSION BAR REPLACEMENT.
3. install the clamps to the insulators, and then to the frame.
4. install the insulator clamp bolts (right hand).

NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and joint clamping force, and may damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.

5. Install the insulator clamp bolt and nut (left hand).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts and the nut to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).

6. Install the following stabilizer link parts in position:
^ The link spacers
^ The link retainers
^ The link insulators
^ The link spacers
7. Install the link bolts.
8. Install the link nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to WHEEL INSTALLATION in TIRES AND WHEELS.
10. Remove the safety stands.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Adjust the trim height of the vehicle. Refer to TRIM HEIGHT in SUSPENSION GENERAL DIAGNOSIS.
