Radiator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Partially drain the coolant.
2. Remove the air cleaner and the duct.
3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir (Gas Engines) or the surge tank (Diesel Engines).





4. Remove the upper fan shroud retaining bolts from the top of the radiator.
5. Remove the upper to lower fan shroud retaining bolts.
6. Remove the upper fan shroud from the vehicle.





7. Remove the fan and the clutch from the engine.
8. Remove the lower fan shroud retaining bolts.
9. Remove the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.





10. Disconnect the clamps at the upper and the lower radiator hoses.
11. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses from the radiator.
12. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
13. Disconnect the oil cooler lines from the radiator.





14. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the radiator to the vehicle.

NOTICE: Refer to Coolant Addition Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the oil cooler lines to the vehicle.
3. Install the transmission oil cooler lines.





4. Connect the upper and the lower hoses to the radiator.
5. Install the clamps to the upper and lower radiator hose.





6. Install the lower fan shroud to the vehicle.
7. Install the retaining bolts to the lower fan shroud.
^ Tighten the lower fan shroud retaining bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

8. Install the fan and the clutch to the engine.





9. Install the upper fan shroud to the lower fan shroud.
10. Install the retaining bolts to the upper and lower fan shrouds.
^ Tighten the retaining bolts to the upper and lower fan shrouds to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).





11. Install the upper fan shroud retaining bolts to the top of the radiator.
^ Tighten the retaining bolts to the upper fan shroud to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).

12. Install the coolant recovery reservoir (Gas Engines) or the surge tank (Diesel Engines).
13. Install the air cleaner and the duct.
14. Refill the coolant.
