Some owners may comment about a loose side swing out window or window becoming detached from the channel.
Cause
The condition may be caused from primer not being properly applied to the glass prior to attaching the glass to the channel.
Correction
Repair the condition using a glass adhesive kit and a new window channel. Use the part numbers listed below. Use the following Service Procedure.
Service Procedure
1. Remove the side swing out window from the vehicle. Refer to Section 10A3 of the appropriate Service Manual.
2. Using a glass cleaner, clean the surface of the glass.
3. Take Glass Prep # 1 and Primer # 2 and shake them well. Remove the caps after shaking.
Important:
Both Glass Prep # 1 and Primer # 2 must be used in order to obtain the proper adhesion of the urethane to the glass.

5. Using a new dauber, apply Glass Primer # 2 to the edge and the inner surface of the glass. Allow this to dry for 6 to 10 minutes.
6. Shake Primer # 3. Using a Q-Tip, apply the pinchweld Primer # 3 to the metal channel that contacts the glass. Allow this to dry 10 minutes.
7. Apply a bead of urethane in the bottom of the channel and then install the glass.
8. Mount the window to the window opening. Adjust the window to the window opening in order to obtain the proper fit and finish. Refer to Section 10A3 of the appropriate Service Manual.
