Power Mirror
The Power Outside Rear View Mirrors are each operated by two bi-directional permanent-magnet motors. One motor turns the mirror left or right on an axis to move the reflection either left or right. The other motor moves the mirror up or down on an axis to raise or lower the reflection. Depending on which motor terminal voltage is applied, the motor will operate in one direction or the other but only if the other motor terminal is grounded. The Power Outside Rear View Mirror Remote Control Switch accomplishes switching to select which mirror is to be operated and in which direction the mirror will move. Contacts in the switch close to apply both power and grounding to the selected motor to move it in one direction. The power and grounding connections are reversed to move the motor in the other direction. The LH/RH mirror selection operates by moving the base of the switch. This prevents the operation of the non-selected mirror by inhibiting current flow. This is done either by isolating voltage or by isolating grounding from the non-selected mirror.
Power to operate the mirrors is available to the Power Outside Rear View Mirror Remote Control Switch at all times on the ORN (40) wire from CTSY Fuse 3 in the IP Fuse Block. Grounding from the switch is through the BLK (150) wire to Ground G20l for all vehicle configurations. The Upfitter Provisions is provided with a supplemental ground, Ground G200.
