Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
1. Recover the refrigerant from the system.
2. The coolant recovery or surge tank.
3. The positive and negative battery cables.
4. The battery from the vehicle.
5. The orifice tube retainer from the evaporator cover.
6. The blower motor cover from the vehicle.
7. The A/C lines from the accumulator.
8. The electrical connectors.
9. The accumulator and bracket from the vehicle.
Install or Connect
1. The accumulator and bracket to the vehicle.
Tighten
^ The screws to evaporator case to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
2. The electrical connectors.
3. The A/C lines to the accumulator.
Tighten
^ The compressor/condenser hose to accumulator to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).
^ The evaporator outlet to the accumulator fitting 48 N.m (35 lb ft).
4. The blower motor cover to the vehicle.
5. The orifice tube retainer to the evaporator cover.
6. The battery to the vehicle.
7. The positive and negative battery cables.
8. The coolant recovery or surge tank.
9. Recharge the refrigerant to the system.
