Primary System




Heater Core Access Door Retainers:






Remove or Disconnect

1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Recover the refrigerant if equipped with A/C.
3. The coolant recovery or surge tank.
4. The battery from the vehicle.
5. The A/C accumulator if equipped.
6. The heater hoses from the heater core.
7. The right kick panel.
8. The right knee bolster.
9. The outer floor air outlet duct.
10. The retaining screws from the heater case.
11. CAREFULLY open the heater core access door to obtain retainers.
12. The retainers from the heater core.
13. The heater core from the vehicle.

Install or Connect

1. The heater core to the vehicle.
2. The retainers to the heater core.
3. CAREFULLY close the heater core access door.
4. The retaining screws to the heater case.
5. The outer floor air outlet duct.
6. The right knee bolster.
7. The right kick panel.
8. The heater hoses to the heater core.
9. The A/C accumulator if equipped.
10. The battery to the vehicle.
11. The coolant recovery or surge tank.
12. Charge the A/C system if equipped.
13. Verify that all engine grounds are clean and tight to ensure no electrical current can flow through the coolant.

NOTICE: A milliamp of electrical current in the coolant can cause premature wear on cooling components. Ensure that all engine grounds are clean and tight and repair as necessary.

14. Fill the engine coolant.
