Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights Dimming

1. CHECK the condition of the PARK LPS Fuse 9 and the ILLUM Fuse 14. If either Fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR the cause of overload and REPLACE the Fuse(s).
2. CHECK that Grounds G101, G201 and G400 (Rear Auxiliary Heater or Heater and A/C) are clean and tight.
3. CHECK that the lamp filaments are not open. The Instrument Panel dimming system provides an input to the Multi-Function Alarm Module for use in the alarm logic. For operation of the Audible Warning System. Refer Audible Warning Device. Audible Warning Device
4. If the Radio's illumination does not operate. then REPLACE the Radio.
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
