Wiper Arm Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Set the wipers in the Park position.
2. Disconnect the washer hose elbow from the air inlet grille panel.
3. Remove the cover from the nut on the wiper arm.
4. Remove the nut from the wiper arm.
IMPORTANT: Use a battery terminal puller to remove the wiper arm if rocking the wiper arm fails to loosen it from the drive shaft.
5. Rock the wiper arm back and forth to loosen it from the drive shaft.
6. Remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.
7. Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the wiper blade onto the wiper arm.
IMPORTANT: Do not interchange the LH and RH wiper arms. The wiper arms are stamped with LH and RH. Hold the measuring device at 90 degrees (perpendicular) to the wiper blade.
2. Install the wiper arm onto the drive shaft while maintaining the following distances between the wiper blade tip and the air inlet grille panel.
^ LH - 70 mm (2.75 in)
^ RH - 65 mm (2.56 in)
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the nut on the wiper arm.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
4. Install the cover on the nut.
5. Install the washer hose elbow onto the air inlet grille panel.
6. Operate the wipers and check for proper operation.
