Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

Diagnostic Chart:

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the accelerator control cable from the accelerator pedal rod.
2. Remove the bolts.
3. Remove the accelerator pedal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Observe the following when installing the accelerator pedal in order to insure the proper operation of the [1][2]accelerator controls:

- Insure that the [1][2]accelerator controls operate without rubbing, binding, or chafing between closed throttle and wide open throttle position.
- Inspect the accelerator mounting surface in order to insure that the surface is free of insulation.
- Position the carpet flat with no wrinkles in the area of the pedal.

1. Install the accelerator pedal and the bolts.
2. Install the accelerator control cable to the accelerator pedal rod.
