Troubleshooting Hints
1. CHECK condition of GAUGES Fuse 4, PARK LPS Fuse 9, ILLUM Fuse 14, and HAZARD Fuse 5. If any Fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR cause of overload and REPLACE the fuse(s).2. CHECK that Ground G201 is clean and tight. For vehicles with the Upfitter Provisions, check also that Ground G200 is clean and tight.
3. CHECK the Safety Belt Lamp for an open filament.
4. CHECK that the LF Door Jamb Switch operates freely.
5. If the Lamps-On Warning Alarm is inoperative, check to see that the IP Dimmer Switch is not in the fully dim position.
6. If the Fasten Safety Belt audible alarm remains present after five seconds, then REPLACE the Multi-Function Alarm Module
7. Failure of two or three of the alarm functions may indicate that the Multi-Function Alarm Module has failed.
8. REFER to Lighting and Horns for diagnosis of the Instrument Panel Dimming system. Lighting and Horns
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
