Direct Clutch Piston Travel Check

- J 8001 Dial Indicator Set
- J 8001-1 Dial Indicator Clamp
- J 8001-3 Dial Indicator
- J 7057 Dial Indicator Plunger Extension





1. Attach J 7057 to J 8001-3.
2. Mount J 8001-3 to the transmission case through the opening in the case barrel using J 8001-3. Place the plunger extension onto the direct clutch piston.
3. Index the J 8001-3. Set the dial to 0.
4. Apply 80 psi of air pressure to the direct clutch passage in order to actuate the direct clutch piston.
5. The direct clutch piston travel should be 3.07 - 4.72 mm (0.121 - 0.186 inch).
