Steering Column Seal

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Set the front wheels in the straight-ahead position.
2. Set the steering wheel in the LOCK position.
3. Remove the intermediate shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
4. Remove the nuts from the studs.
5. Remove the seal from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the seal to the vehicle.
2. Install the nuts to the studs.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

- Tighten the nuts to 3 Nm (25 inch lbs.).

3. Install the intermediate shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- Tighten the upper pinch bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the coupler pinch bolt to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
