Air Compressor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

2. Remove the automatic level control compressor shield. Refer to Air Compressor Shield Replacement.
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
4. Deflate the system by removing the springs clip from the air line Fittings base.





5. Remove the rear bumper extension. Refer to Bumper Extension Replacement - Rear (Utility) in Bumpers. Remove the air line from the air dryer.
6. Disconnect the automatic level control compressor electrical connections.





7. Remove the automatic level control air compressor mountings nuts.
8. Remove the compressor from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Hang the automatic level control air compressor to the vehicle using the hook on the automatic level control air compressor bracket.
2. Reconnect the automatic level control compressor electrical connections.
3. Install the air line to the air dryer.
4. Install the automatic level control compressor shield. Refer to Air Compressor Shield Replacement.





NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the automatic level control air compressor to the underbid.
- Tighten the automatic level control air compressor nuts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the rear bumper extension. Refer to Bumper Extension Replacement - Rear (Utility) in Bumpers.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
