Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
3. Remove the fuel feed pipe nuts (1) from both sides of the fuel filter.




4. Remove the fuel filter clamp bolt (1).




5. Remove the filter (4) and the clamp (3) from fuel lines.

Remove the clamp from the fuel filter.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




Install the clamp onto the fuel filter.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to install the fuel filter with the embossed arrow pointing in the direction of fuel flow.

1. Install the fuel filter (4) and clamp (3) to the fuel pipe.




2. Install the clamp bolt (1).




3. Install the fuel feed pipe nuts (1).

4. Tighten
Tighten the fuel feed pipe nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Check for leaks.
