Horn Switch

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
3. Remove the steering wheel inflator module. Refer to Infl Rst Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
4. Remove the horn plunger contact from the steering wheel.
5. Remove the 4 screws that connect the horn contact switch to the steering wheel.
6. Remove the horn switch assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the horn contact switch assembly to the steering wheel.
2. Install the four screws.
- Tighten the screws until the screws are fully driven and seated. Do not strip the screws.

3. Install the horn plunger contact to the cam tower in the steering wheel.
4. Install the steering wheel inflator module to the steering wheel. Refer to Infl Rst Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
5. Enable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
6. Connect the battery negative cable.
