Instrument Panel (IP) - Carrier Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE



1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
3. Remove the inflatable restraint IP module.
4. Remove the radio, if equipped.
5. Remove the instrument panel storage compartment, if equipped.
6. Remove the bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier.
7. Remove the RKE module from the carrier.
8. Remove the temperature control assembly.




9. Remove the nuts that retain the assist handle from the passenger's side of the instrument panel.
10. Remove the screws that retain the cluster to the instrument panel carrier.




11. Pull the cluster from the instrument panel.




12. Remove the instrument panel trim pad.
13. Remove the nuts and bolts that retain the instrument panel steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




1. Install the nuts and bolts that retain the instrument panel steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts and bolts to the steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

2. Install the instrument panel trim pad.




3. Install the instrument cluster to the instrument panel carrier with four retaining screws.




4. Install the nuts that retain the assist handle to the passenger's side of the instrument panel.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts that retain the assist handle to the passenger's side of the instrument panel to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

5. Install the temperature control head.
6. Install the two bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier.

Tighten
Tighten the two bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Install the radio, if equipped.
8. Install the instrument panel storage compartment.
9. Install the inflatable restraint IP module.




10. Install the instrument panel to the vehicle.
11. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
