[1][2]Air Inlet Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Service Precautions.

1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Airbags and Seat Belts.
2. Remove the knee bolsters.
^ knee Bolster Replacement - Right in Interior Trim.
^ knee Bolster Replacement - Left in Interior Trim.
3. Remove the right cowl side trim panel.
4. Remove the air distributor duct.
5. Remove the retaining bolts from the air inlet.
6. Remove the vacuum connector.
7. Remove the air inlet from the vehicle.
8. Remove the nuts that retain the vacuum motor.
9. Remove the vacuum motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the vacuum motor.
2. Install the nuts that retain the vacuum motor.
3. Install the air inlet to the vehicle.
4. install the vacuum connector.
5. Install the bolts that retain the air inlet to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the air inlet bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

6. Install the air distributor duct.
7. Install the right cowl side trim panel.
8. Install the knee bolsters.
^ Knee Bolster Replacement - Right in Interior Trim.
^ knee Bolster Replacement - Left in Interior Trim.
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Enable the SIR System in Airbags and Seat Belts.
