Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Disassemble
DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE1. Remove the lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble.
2. Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifcn Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle.
IMPORTANT: Using excessive force in removing the electrical BTSI actuator from the steering column may cause damage.
3. Remove the electrical BTSI actuator.
4. Use a screwdriver to pry the electrical BTSI actuator from the steering column jacket assembly.
5. Remove the 3 flat head 6-lobed socket tapping screws (2).
6. Remove the park lock cable assembly (3).
7. Remove the 4 TORX screws from the steering column housing assembly.
8. Remove the steering column housing assembly from the steering column housing jacket.
9. Remove the following parts from the steering column jacket assembly:
9.1. The steering column seal (3).
9.2. The adapter and bearing assembly (2).
9.3. The lower steering shaft (1).
