Brake Pipe Replacement (Master Cylinder to EBCM)
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: Refer to Brake Pipe Replacement Caution in Service Precautions.
IMPORTANT: Brake pipes that run parallel to each other must maintain a 6 mm (1/4 inch) clearance.
1. Disconnect the brake pipe(s) from the brake master cylinder.
2. Disconnect the rear brake pipe and/or the front brake pipe from the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) unit.
3. Remove the brake pipe retaining clips from the frame.
4. Remove the brake pipe from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the brake pipe to the vehicle.
2. Install the brake pipe retaining clips to the frame.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Connect the rear brake pipe and/or the front brake pipe to the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) unit.
^ Tighten the brake pipe to the EBCM unit to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the brake pipe to the brake master cylinder.
^ Tighten the brake pipe to the master cylinder to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
5. Bleed the brake hydraulic system.
