Handling Compressor Oil

If you remove the oil from the A/C system during the recovery process, or during component replacement, replenish the oil at this time. Refer to Refrigerant Oil Distribution for the proper oil capacities.
1. Select the graduated bottle of replenishing Polyalkylene Glycol (PAG) synthetic refrigerant oil GM P/N 12345923, or equivalent.
2. Adjust the O-ring around the PAG oil bottle to the required oil charge level. EXAMPLE: If the bottle oil level is at 4 ounces, and 0.5 ounce of oil is required, adjust the O-ring to 3.5 ounces as the final level mark.

IMPORTANT:
^ Keep the oil bottles tightly capped at all times in order to keep out moisture and contamination.
^ DO NOT open the oil injection valve when there is positive pressure in the A/C system. This will result in oil blow-back through the bottle vent.
A/C system vacuum is required for this operation.
^ DO NOT let the oil level drop below the pick-up tube while charging or replenishing. This will allow air into the A/C system.
Install the bottle on the oil injection system on the back of the unit.

3. Open the valve at the top of the plastic container. Observe the level of the oil being drawn into the system.
4. Close the valve when the required oil charge has been pulled into the system.
