Turn Signal Cancel Cam & Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble

DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

- Tools Required
- J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor
- J 42137 Lock Plate Compressor Adapter

IMPORTANT: Let the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil assembly hang freely after removal.

1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil -Disassemble - Off Vehicle.





2. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly (2) using J 23653-SIR and J 42137.
3. Remove the bearing retainer (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
4. Discard the bearing retainer.
5. Remove J 23653-SIR and J 42137 from the steering shaft assembly.





6. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft assembly.
6.1. The shaft lock shield assembly (4).
6.2. The turn signal cancel cam assembly (3).
6.3. The upper bearing spring (2).
6.4. The thrust washer (1).
