88. Exhaust Manifold Installation - Left without RPO K19

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the exhaust manifold studs, if removed.
^ Tighten the exhaust manifold studs to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

Important: Make sure the 7.4 marking on the gasket is facing away from the cylinder head.

2. Install the new exhaust manifold gasket.
3. Install the exhaust manifold.
4. Install the exhaust manifold nuts and center bolt.
4.1. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4.2. Tighten the exhaust manifold center bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).





5. Install the spark plug heat shields.
6. Install the spark plug heat shield nuts.
^ Tighten the spark plug heat shield nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





7. Install the ECT sensor into the left cylinder head.
^ Tighten the ECT sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
8. Connect the ECT sensor wiring harness connector to the bracket on the upper intake manifold.





9. Install the exhaust adapter, if removed.
^ Tighten the exhaust adapter to 160 Nm (117 ft. lbs.).





10. Install the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) inlet pipe to the exhaust manifold.
^ Tighten the EGR inlet pipe at the exhaust manifold to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
11. Install the EGR inlet pipe to the intake manifolds.
^ Tighten the EGR inlet pipe at the intake manifold to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
12. Install the spark plug wires onto the spark plugs.
