LubricateSteering and Suspension
Lubricate the chassis components (or every 3 months whichever occurs first). Lubricate the front suspension, ball joints, steering linkage, transmission shift linkage, transfer case shift linkage, parking brake cable guides, rear driveline center splines. Ball joints should not be lubricated unless their temperature is -12 degrees C (10 degrees F) or higher or they could be damaged.
Inspect
Heat Shield, Exhaust
Vehicles over 10,000 lbs. GVWR only. Inspect shields and underhood insulation For damage or looseness. Adjust or replace as required.
Fluid - Differential
Inspect front/rear axle fluid level and add fluid as needed. Inspect constant velocity joints and axle seals for leaking. If driving in dusty areas or towing a trailer, drain fluid and refill every 25 000 km (15,000 miles) 3500 HD models drain and refill at 30,000 miles. More frequent lubrication may be required for heavy-duty or off-road use.
Replace
Oil Filter, Engine
Or every 3 months, whichever occurs first.
Engine Oil
Or every 3 months, whichever occurs first.
Clean/Repack
Wheel Bearing
2WD only: Clean and repack the front wheel bearings (or at each brake relining whichever occurs first).
