Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure





1. Remove the lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift).Service and Repair
2. Remove the turn signal. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift).Service and Repair
3. Use a screwdriver to pry the electrical BTSI actuator from the steering column jacket assembly.





4. Remove the 3 flat head 6-lobed socket tapping screws (2).
5. Remove the linear shift assembly (1).





6. Remove the steering column seal (3).
7. Remove the adapter and bearing assembly (2).
8. Remove the steering shaft (1).





9. Remove the 4 TORX(R) screws (1) from the steering column support assembly (2).
10. Discard the 4 TORX(R) head screws (1).
11. Remove the steering column support assembly (2) from the steering column jacket assembly (3).
