Radio/Audio System Operation (AM/FM Radio UM7 or UM6)
Power (PWR)
The radio power switch is a push On/push Off control. If the radio is Off, press the round push-button in order to turn the system On. If the radio is On, push the round push-button in order to turn the system Off. The ignition lock cylinder must be in the ACCESSORY or RUN position for the radio to operate.
Call (CALL)
If the radio is On, press the CALL push-button in order to display the clock for a few seconds. In order to change what is normally shown on the display (station or time), press the CALL button and the SET button.
Band Switching (AM/FM)
Press the AM/FM push-button in order to change the radio band to AM or FM. The display shows your selection
Tuning (UP-DOWN)
Press the UP button in order to increase the frequency of a radio station. Press the DOWN button in order to decrease the frequency of a radio station. If the UP or DOWN button is held for more than a half a second, the radio tunes rapidly in that direction.
Volume (VOLUME)
Slide the VOLUME lever to the right in order to increase the volume. Slide the VOLUME lever to the left in order to decrease the volume.
Seek (SEEK)
Press SEEK in order to tune the radio to the next higher station and stay there.
Scan (SCAN)
Press SCAN in order to listen to the next higher radio station for a few seconds. Press SCAN again in order to stop scanning.
Push-Buttons
The six numbered push-buttons allow the radio to return to preset radio stations. You can set up to 12 stations (six AM and six FM). In order to preset desired AM or FM stations, perform the following steps:
1. Turn the radio on.
2. Press AM/FM in order to select a band.
3. Tune in the desired station.
4. Press the SET button (SET will appear on the display and blink for about eight seconds).
5. Press one of the six push-buttons, within eight seconds. In the display, SET will stop blinking indicating the preset is set. Whenever that numbered button is pressed, the set station returns. Repeat the steps for each push-button.
Setting the Clock
While pressing the SET button, press the UP button until the correct hour appears on the display. While pressing the SET button, press the DOWN button until the correct minute appears on the display. When the UP/DOWN button is pressed and held, hours or minutes advance rapidly.
If electrical power is interrupted (by a blown fuse, discharged battery, etc), reset the clock after power is restored.
Fade (FAD)
Slide this lever to the left or right in order to adjust the speaker balance between the front and rear speakers. The middle position balances the sound between the speakers.
Balance (BAL)
Slide this lever to the left or right in order to adjust the speaker balance between the right and left speakers. The middle position balances the sound between the speakers.
Bass (BAS)
Slide this lever left or right in order to decrease or increase the bass.
Treble (TRE)
Slide this lever left or right in order to decrease or increase the treble. If a station is weak or noisy, the treble may need to be decreased.
Loud (LOUD)
Press this button in order to increase the bass and treble at low volumes. LOUD will appear in the display. Press this button again in order to turn LOUD off.
