Shutter Valve Solenoid Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Before removing or installing any electrical unit, or when a tool or equipment in Cautions and Notices.

1. Remove the hydraulic lines or the air lines, as equipped, from the radiator shutter actuator.




2. Remove the clip at the top of the radiator shutter actuator pivot pin.
3. Remove the mounting bolt from the bottom of the radiator shutter actuator.
4. Rotate the shutter actuator outward on the pivot in order to obtain clearance.
5. Remove the shutter actuator from the pivot.
6. Remove the fitting from the actuator.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the fitting to the actuator.

* Tighten the air fitting to 6 Nm (53 lb in).
* Tighten the hydraulic fitting to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

2. Connect the radiator shutter actuator to the pivot pin.
Pivot the shutter actuator into place.
3. Install the clip to the radiator shutter actuator pivot pin.
4. Install the radiator shutter actuator mounting bolt.

Tighten the actuator mounting bolt to 38 Nm (28 lb ft).

5. Install the hydraulic lines or the air lines, as equipped, to the radiator shutter actuator.
