Suction Hose Replacement (LP4/L21)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet front duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
Important: When removing the sealing washers, prevent dirt and foreign material from getting onto the sealing surfaces of the following components:
* The washers (7) and (6)
* The hose fitting (3)
3. Remove the compressor hose clamp, washer, and the bolt.
4. Remove the compressor hoses from the compressor.
5. Remove the compressor sealing washers.
Discard the compressor sealing washers.
6. Remove the 4 clips fastening the suction hose to the engine wiring harness
7. Remove the suction hose fitting (2) from the accumulator (3).
8. Remove the O-ring seal and discard the O-ring seal.
Installation Procedure
1. Coat the NEW O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the NEW O-ring seal into the accumulator end of the suction hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the suction hose to the accumulator.
Tighten the suction hose fitting at the accumulator to 32 Nm (24 lb ft).
Important: When removing the sealing washers, prevent dirt and foreign material from getting onto the sealing surfaces of the following components
* The washers
* The hose fittings
Do not reuse the sealing washers.
Do not oil the sealing washers prior to assembly.
4. Install the NEW sealing washers onto the pilots of the fittings. Ensure that the washers bottom against the surface of the hose fittings.
Important: Ensure that there is a 1.2 mm (0.047 in) space between the fittings and the compressor rear head.
5. Install the compressor hose clamp, washer and the bolt.
Tighten the compressor hose clamp bolt to 35 Nm (26 lb ft).
6. Install the 4 clips fastening the suction hose to the engine wiring harness.
7. Add refrigerant to the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
8. Remove the air cleaner outlet front duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
9. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing Leak Testing.
