Clutch Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair in General Information.
2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement Service and Repair in Manual Transmission.




3. For vehicles equipped with 14 inch single pull type clutch systems, remove the bolts and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.




4. For vehicles equipped with 14 inch double pull type clutch systems, remove the bolts and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.




5. For vehicles equipped with 14 inch Eaton(R)-Valeo(R) pull type clutch systems, remove the bolts and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
6. Mark the flywheel, cover plate, and pressure plate for installation alignment.

Installation Procedure




1. For vehicles equipped with 14 inch Eaton(R)-Valeo(R) pull type clutch systems, install the bolts and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.




2. For vehicles equipped with 14 inch double pull type clutch systems, install the bolts and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. For vehicles equipped with 14 inch single pull type clutch systems, install the bolts and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.

Tighten the bolts to 54 Nm(40 lb ft).

4. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement Service and Repair in Manual Transmission.
