Exhaust System: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.





2. Remove the flange stud nuts (2) at the junction of the rear exhaust system and the catalytic convertor.
3. Disconnect the exhaust hangers for the rear exhaust system.





4. Remove the rear exhaust system.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear exhaust system.
2. Connect the exhaust hangers to the rear exhaust system.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. Install the flange stud nuts (2) at the junction of the rear exhaust system and the catalytic convertor.
Tighten the nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the safety stands.
5. Lower the vehicle.
