Duo-Servo Drum Brakes

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the linings. Refer to Brake Lining Replacement.
2. Remove the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement.
3. Remove the bolts.
4. Remove the washers.
5. Remove the backing plate.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the backing plate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolts and the washers.

^ Tighten the bolts to 160 Nm (118 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement.
4. Install the linings. Refer to Brake Lining Replacement.
5. Adjust the brakes. Refer to Drum Brake Adjustment.
6. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
