Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the throttle body assembly from the upper intake manifold.




2. Remove the mounting bolts from the TP sensor.

NOTE: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.




3. Remove the TP sensor and O-ring seal from the throttle body assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Ensure the throttle valve is closed.




1. Install the O-ring seal on the TP sensor.
2. Install the TP sensor on the throttle body.




3. Install the TP sensor mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2.0 N.m (18 lb in).




4. Install the throttle body assembly to the upper intake manifold.
