The battery voltage available at the time of the indicated measurement. With the ignition switch in the RUN position and the engine stopped, the voltage is usually 11.5-12.5 volts. With the engine at idle, the voltage may be 14.0-16.0 volts. During engine cranking, the voltage may be as low as 10.0 volts.
