New Product Information

The purpose of New Product Information is to highlight or indicate important product changes from the previous model year.
Changes may include one or more of the following items:
^ Torque values and/or fastener tightening strategies
^ Changed engine specifications
^ New sealants and/or adhesives
^ Disassembly and assembly procedure revisions
^ Engine mechanical diagnostic procedure revisions
^ New special tools required
^ A component comparison from the previous year


Disassembly and Assembly Procedure Revisions
^ The repair procedures have been updated to remove duplicate art and procedural steps.
^ The engine overhaul procedures have been updated to remove duplicate art and procedural steps.


Component Comparison from the Previous Model Year
^ All SAE fasteners on the engine assembly have been updated to metric fasteners.
^ The water pump pulley is now press-fit to the water pump drive shaft. The water pump and pulley are now serviced as an assembly.
^ Redesigned valve rocker arm cover flange. The valve rocker arm cover flange now incorporates a small step where RTV is to be applied to aid in sealing.
